Welcome to Happy Acres! We are modern homesteaders, focused on a lifestyle of self-sufficiency and harmony with nature. Our homestead consists of 30 acres of land, mostly wooded, in Paducah, KY. Our land was once intended to be developed into another subdivision. We are very proud to be able to purchase and preserve this beautiful natural habitat for wildlife and our woodland livestock. We focus on organic gardening with heirloom seeds and plants to provide our animals and family with fruit, vegetables, and herbs. Several honeybee colonies ensure pollination and natural sweetener for our food. We raise heritage breeds of poultry for eggs and meat, Nubian goats for fresh raw milk, New Zealand rabbits, American Guinea hogs, and some hunting for meat. All of our animals provide manure that is composted and used in the gardens. To be truly sustainable in this modern world, some degree of income is necessary. We sell eggs, live poultry, handmade goat milk soaps, herbs, honey, and other livestock any time we are blessed with excess. You will find us at the Downtown Paducah Farmer's Market on Saturdays during the regular season.
